Gusbourne Estate produces exceptional quality English sparkling wines. The estate sits on the low slopes of the ancient Kentish escarpment at Appledore. The entire estate consists of south-facing slopes. Currently 50 of a potential 250 acres on the Estate have been planted with the traditional Champagne varieties: Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier.
All Gusbourne Estate wines are made according to the classic Champagne method, where second fermentation takes place in the bottle, thereby producing the highest quality sparkling wine.
Gusbourne Estate has invested heavily in the latest agricultural and viticultural equipment to attain the highest quality levels of its grapes, and therefore its wines. The estate purposefully limits yield in favour of quality, believing that great wines are made in the vineyard.
Plans are currently underway to build a multi-million pound winery and visitor centre, thereby generating further investment and employment to the local area.
