Vineyard Event Food & Wine Event In Store Tasting English Wine Week
On Saturday 27th May 2017 from 11am-4pm Hanwell Wine Estate to celebrate #EnglishWineWeek will be hosting their annual open day. There will be vineyard talks on the hour and wine available to taste and buy Tea, coffee and cake sll avaliable too!
Celebrate #EnglishWineWeek at Albury Vineyard, with a tour overlooking the Surrey Hills, followed by a tasting of their latest releases.
Vineyard tour and tastings last 1 hour 30 minutes and include: -
- A tour of Albury Vineyard with either owner Nick Wenman or vineyard manager Alex Valsecchi lasting 45mins - 1 hour
- An explanation and insight into organic and biodynamic viticulture
- A tasting of the vineyard’s latest wine releases including our award-winning Silent Pool Rosé and Albury Estate sparkling wines
Why not stay for a glass or two afterwards? Albury Vineyard have local cheese and meat platters to nibble on, a picturesque patio area, and welcome visitors to bring a picnic and enjoy lunch amongst the vines.

To celebrate English wine week this year, Albury Estate are delighted to be welcoming the Dabbling Duck, voted Café of the Year 2016 in the Surrey Life Food & Drink Awards to the vineyard for afternoon tea! The sun will be shining, of course, and tea will be served both in the vineyard barn, and on the patio overlooking beautiful views of the vineyard and the Surrey Hills.
The afternoon tea menu includes:
A selection of finger sandwiches and savoury tarts
Scones, clotted cream and jam
Fresh English strawberries
A selection of dainty cakes
Tea and a glass of Albury Estate Classic Cuvée
Tickets are priced at £30 per person and can be purchased on the Albury Vineyard Website.
Join Rathfinny on a tour of the Estate for #EnglishWineWeek, during which you will see how they turn their grapes into Sussex Sparkling wine. Walking through the vines in a small group with an experienced guide, exploring the Vineyard and the history and wildlife of the Estate, allows you to fully appreciate Rathfinny’s place in this classic landscape.

During #EnglishWineWeek Spirit of Harborough will be celebrating the local artisan alcohol producers...
Come along and enjoy their festival Garden Party at The Oat Hill Public House where they will have live music alongside local food and local drink stalls all in the lovely garden surroundings. From there take a return bus ride to visit the producers at Hallaton Cider Kickers, Langton Brewery, Two Birds Gin School, or Welland Valley Vineyard. Alternatively take a short walk to the Market Harborough Brewery. So if it’s wine, beer, cider, or gin that is your tipple, the choice is yours.’
Welland Valley Vineyard: Meet at the festival HQ ‘The Oat Hill’ Market Harborough to be taken by bus and met at the fabulous Welland Valley Vineyard by David the local award-winning wine producer. Enjoy a guided tour of the vineyard and the winery before being taken through how this award-winning wine is produced finishing with a tasting of the red, white, and sparkling wines on offer!
Two Birds Gin: Meet at the Festival HQ 'The Oat Mill' to be taken by bus to the prestigious Two Birds Gin School by Simon your Ginstructor for your experience. Enjoy the perfect Gin and Tonic on arrival before being taken through the history of Gin and the story of Two Birds themselves before undergoing a gin distilling demonstration along with tastings of 4 different gin types including the very gin distilled at your visit.

In celebration of #EnglishWineWeek Bardfield Vineyard are having an open day on the 29th May 2pm- 5pm with wine tastings (launch of 2016 vintage) gardens, food and craft markets, afternoon tea and wine sales.

To Celebrate #EnglishWineWeek Group Sommelier Andrea Briccarello together with Nyetimber will be hosting a wine dinner at Bistrot de Luxe on Tuesday 30th May 2017 at 7pm. A 5-course menu, created by Michelin starred Chef Chris Galvin, will be served and each course is paired with Nyetimber.
