An opportunity has arisen for visitors to meet the team, behind Yorkshire’s long established and award-winning vineyard, Leventhorpe.
As the first vineyard to re-introduce commercial wine growing in Yorkshire, Leventhorpe Vineyard and the team, for the third-year running will be from the 11th July to the 13th July promoting their wines at The Great Yorkshire Show in Harrogate. The show features the best of British farming and is known as England’s premier agricultural show, organised by the Yorkshire Agricultural Society this year will be its 159th show and attracts around 130,000 visitors.
Visitors will be able to taste a selection of the wines including the Leventhorpe Madeleine Angevine 2013 during the ‘Meet the Farmer’ event within the Food Hall at the show. In previous years Leventhorpe Vineyard has been the only English wine producer at the show, with many visitors delighted by the quality of the wines.
Last year’s show saw Leventhorpe Vineyard invited by UK Trade & Investment to contribute a selection of their wines to the British Embassy to celebrate the end of the Tour de France, bringing a taste of Yorkshire to Paris. The Destination Management Organisation for Yorkshire, (Welcome to Yorkshire) hosted the “Yorkshire High Tea” event for invited guests at their stand on the Avenue des Champs-Elysees. Which showed the best of the region’s products, including the Leventhorpe Madeleine Angevine 2012 which was paired with a selection of delicious Yorkshire cheeses.
