The Vineyards of Hampshire, a group of leading Hampshire wine producers, is offering an exciting opportunity for the trade andpress to taste a wide range of their market-leading English sparkling and still wines in central London next month.
Comprising seven different vineyards, including the first trade appearance for newest member Raimes English Sparkling, the group of award-winning producers holds a Trade & Press Tasting in London each year. This year’s tasting will be held at The Stafford Hotel on Tuesday 6th February. Previous events have attracted top sommeliers, wine merchants and journalists from across London and the wider country.
With English wines growing by 16% last year to a turnover of over £132 million, and 1 million new vines planted across the UK last season, The Vineyards of Hampshire are setting the benchmark for some of the most exciting and distinctive wines in a category that is on everyone’s lips. Hampshire, the third largest wine producing county after Sussex and Kent, is known for its rolling valleys with rich microclimates, and an abundance of chalk soils; perfect for producing quality English wines of character.
There will be some exciting new products on show as well, including Jenkyn Place’s smart new rebranding, Hattingley Valley's new limited edition traditional method sparkling red pinot noir, Raimes English Sparkling’s new vintage ‘2014 Classic’, newly released vintages of Danebury’s still whites, and Exton Park Vineyard’s first Magnums of their Brut Reserve NV in gift boxes.
