PRESS RELEASE - 26th April 2005
English Wine Week 2005 Set To Continue Success Of English Wne Promotion
Today marks the official launch of English Wine Week 2005, the countrywide campaign to promote English wines and vineyards, which takes place this year 28th May to 5th June.
Throughout the week, vineyards across the country will be opening to the public, including some that are not normally available to visit. Other outlets from both the on and off trade will also be involved in this promotion, linking with vineyards locally or regionally and highlighting them during the week.
Now in its fourth year, English Wine Week continues to encourage wine consumers to try English wine, by making them even more accessible, and use the opportunity to build up better dealings with the trade. Sales of English wine have increased considerably as a result of this promotional drive.
The week itself incorporates the last Bank Holiday in May and half term holiday in many schools, an ideal time when people are out and about. With the vines themselves starting to look more lush at that time of the year, English Wine Week kicks off the summer season with an effective focus on the quality that our own wines have to offer.
All activities, vineyards and outlets will be published on the English Wine Producers website – www.englishwineproducers.com Posters and leaflets promoting English wine week are available, along with tent cards and shelf fronts to support all trade activity. All information is available direct from English Wine Producers - tel: 01536 772264.
